I believe large foreheads is a sign of respect in inkling culture. Look at the Kraken royal's size. and Frye. and pearl. Obviously, the larger the head, the more respect one gets. Thats why Marie was less known in Splatoon 2 than pearl (def not because one was currently on the news and the other wasn't...)
