Domino GROVE - Notes & Credits for Instructions! Remix of totallybigbrain's Final version of the project. Sadly, he removed his account & thus the project too. BUT if you want to keep playing it, you can here! CONTROLS: - Click and drag to place your Domino. - Press SPACE or the Turn button to rotate it. - Full SCREEN - for easier domino placement.
*** NEW FEATURE *** (@gregatku addition) - I have added a High Scores Leaderboard! - A Score > 50th best score will get (Scratchers only) on - Hover on the Championship Cup to see score needed - Only your highest Score will be registered - Click Championship Cup to Show/Hide Leaderboard - No need to prove your high Score with a Screenshot! - I prefilled it with the 4 previously proven High Scores. - And a little bonus ... the initial single Tree is no longer placed on a Tile from where it is impossible to fill the 35 Tile board completely (it used to do this a little less than half the time). You can still mess-up and place the Dominos poorly and thus be unable to fill the Board! - And one new change that doesn't alter the game at all. It simply shows the score change count added for each set of matches, whether that be shape or colour. This brings the scoring animation a little more into line with the original game, that @totallybigbrain remade. REMIXers WARNING: - If you Remix this project (I'd prefer that you don't), the Cloud Leaderboard will NOT work for you, unless you know a lot about Cloud Variables and how, when & why they work & take the necessary steps to make it work. NOTES & CREDITS - copied from @totalllybigbrain's final version. GAMEPLAY: - Domino Grove is a delightful puzzle game about finding just the right spot to plant your trees. - Try to chain trees together to earn points! Group the same of color or shape. - Wilds (grey trees with eyeballs), chain through any adjacent colors. -Scroll down for controls. EXTRA CHALLENGE: - Try and score as low as possible! Only try after you complete 3-5 normal games. - See more challenges HERE: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/36211926/ CONTROLS: - Click and drag to place your Dominoes. - Press SPACE or the Turn button to rotate them. - MOBILE FRIENDLY! :) - Recommended 35-65% volume. - Full SCREEN - for easier domino placement. CREDITS: - A very, very heartfelt thanks to @gregatku for developing the WHOLE ENTIRE scoring system (thank you so much!). He helped me in so many ways, and you should really thank him for encouraging me to release this game! - Thanks to @gregatku for being kind enough to make the eyeballs point towards the mouse, like the original game. - Thanks to @colinmacc and @gregatku for introducing me to the concept of Recursion. - Thanks to @colinmacc for being able to (unnaturally quickly) find bugs, and what was causing them. - Thanks to Pixabay for the tree placing sound effect, but I made the effect for when you chain the score together. - Thanks to @alphabetica for the intro concept, and the gradient costume. - Thanks to the Scratch Wiki for teaching what and how to use lists. - And, of course, thanks to the original developers of this addictive logic game! You can find the developers and the game by searching the title of this project (minus the version) into your browser’s Search bar. The original Domino Grove was created by Ezra Szanton, Matt Brelsford, Chris Bolte, and Fergus Ferguson. I have permission from the developers to share their (possibly real) names. EXTRA NOTE: - While it may seem like I didn’t do much, it only looks that way because I actually credit people. I even modified some of the original game, to make it a bit more of my own. - If you read all the credits, congratulations! You now know a few great people to contact & follow on Scratch! Now I’ll reward you with some tags: #Games #Domino #Minimalist #Logic #Relaxing #Turn-based #Casual #Colorful #Cozy #Cute #Trees #Mobile HIGHEST SCORES LEADERBOARD: - This Leaderboard no longer required, as this remix now has a Cloud Leaderboard built into the project! - Screenshots of many of the top scores can be found here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1121134799/ LOWEST SCORES LEADERBOARD: (An interesting idea, and very different strategy) 1. @maxandmarshall with 0! 1. @STARMAR298 with 0! 2. @ThornTheThird with 2! 2. @pcam2305 with 2! 3. @gregatku with 2! BTW - You can still talk about the game in the Domino Grove Studio: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/36211926/
