You might be wondering why I'm working on recreations of existing Sonic songs instead of working on one of the numerous projects I'm a part of. The answer is both extremely simple and rather complicated at the same time. During my time working on these Sonic Fangame projects, the disparity between my style of composition and Sonic music's slowly became more obvious to me. This may have happened simply due to me becoming more skilled overtime or because my jumping between styles highlighted it to me, but that's not really the point. Music is an integral part of a Sonic game, and if it's not quite right, it can offset or simply change the way the game feels to a player. If my music doesn't feel like Sonic music, there is simply no reason to use instead of actual Sonic music. There are a few instances that I think I did a really good job emulating Sonic's style, but I've noticed that I especially struggle to emulate the style of Sonic Zones. A very big part of the sonic sound comes from the instrumentation, and that is the main reason I created this track. Instead of having to focus on both composition and sound design at the same time, I instead decided to take an existing Sonic track and focus entirely on the instrumentation, and in the end I think I did a pretty good job. Keep in mind I didn't want this to be a 100% accurate recreation, but rather a capturing of the spirit of Sonic. So instead of continuing to make mediocre Sonic music, for the next portion of my music journey, I'm going to study and focus on emulating Sonic CD's/Tee Lopes style of composition. If you'd like to follow my journey, follow the studio that this project is in! I'm going to be posting all my Sonic tracks and analysis in there as a record and future help to other composers. If you have any questions about Sonic music composition, or composition in general, leave a comment on the studio and I will do my best to answer and help out in general. Let's all learn to be better composers together! Also @Heisengaming if you're reading this, I'm still going to work on EONS, I just want to make sure that my work for your stunning project is the best it can be! If you actually read all of this, thanks, and I'll see you next time!
