Icy Chess: How To Play The lighter blue goes first. On your turn, there are 2 pieces that you can move: Hourglass Ice Rook The Hourglass simply moves forward (1 space) and captures forward (1 space), similar to a chess pawn. If it reaches the end of the board, however, it does not promote. Click on it again to make it disappear. The Ice Rook is just like a rook in chess, but there are a few key differences. The Ice Rook must move until it hits a wall, or it bumps into a piece of its color. The Ice Rook pierces pieces of the other color. To win, you must capture all of your opponent's pieces. To move an hourglass, click on it. To move an ice rook, click on it, then press an arrow key. I am not implementing draws. (threefold repetition, 50-50 move rule)
