( With glasses inside) This sucks but I tried XD lol i tried to draw her PROCREAAAATE Click for next- this is also sorta a mini art dump!) Hi guys! It’s been a while… Scratch hasn’t been my number one priority lately, but I’d still like to post every now and then :) I’m also trying to post more stuff to my YouTube! (Still struggling with finishing up videos though, I’m not good at editing which is why I’ve basically only posted animations lol) So yeah! I wanted to make this project bc I’ve changed my art style (mostly the way I do lineart) and I wanted to talk about it! Funnily enough, the brush I’m using is the first brush I really liked in Procreate when I just started, that being Studio Pen. However, I have gotten much better at controlling my hand and making better lines, as well as just better at art than when I first started, so the drawings with the same brush look WAY nicer! (it might be shocking but drawing a lot makes you improve, it’s kinda crazy :0000) While I love thick lineart, being able to get more detailed has been way more fun, and I really like the direction my art has been going in lately :3 I’ve also started shading things more meticulously (in a good way), and with way more different elements, like more gradients, more smudging, and basically just mixing in the hard shadows with soft shadows more. I couldn’t really do as much of this detail with my thick lineart style because thick lineart meshes much better with simpler shading (you can make detailed shading work, i mean i did do that, but it just depends I suppose) and I’ve been wanting to spend a bit more time with all the fun rendering, so this is great for me! And, lineart hasn’t really ever been my favorite step of the art process for a while, and honestly it’s so refreshing to get that fun back lol UH YEAH ANd it took me a while to get to this but I redesigned Perilune a bit!! Most of the changes are around her face, I kinda wanted to make the tail jewelry easier to draw while still kinda keeping the detail but I just couldn’t think of anything so I just kept it lol (any suggestions?? Comment if you do have any but I’m not expecting anything lol it’s all good) Basically, I changed her hair, made the horns more angular, added more ear piercings, added glasses, a different collar, glasses, and wings! Well, the wings appeared sometimes in my drawings, but now they’re there for real lol (however, if you want to draw Perilune, you can totally do the old design if you want, I’m chill with that lol- I know I made a complicated character even more complicated XD) though, I think for me, she’s become less complicated, because I draw her so often that I’ve memorized everything, and some more details to draw makes it more interesting! TL;DR: Change up the way you draw every once in a while, it’s fun! And you might improve your art because of it! Same for your characters, redesign the heck out of them if you’re getting bored :]
