Instructions

> Up Arrow: Move forward > Down Arrow: Move backwards You can see inside how I'm planning to do this, the game's engine is very simple! Basically 2 sprites and some resizing tricks. You can do any ''3D like'' game with a single and static perspective point with it!

Description

Hi everyone, this is the development of the next Drag Race game I'm currently working on! Checkout the first one if you haven't yet: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1758022/ As you might have noticed, I'm not as much active as I would like to be, so expect the development of my projects to have a slow pace. Any suggestions are welcome! :) UPDATES [ Jun 17th, 2021 ] Started painting the second house. For this track, I'm planning to paint them as beach houses, possibly with a beach and the ocean on the right, and in the background layer I'll replace the tall buildings with trees and some other beach related stuff. [ Jun 15th, 2021 ] Started painting the first drag track, at the moment it only has one house and only appears in the thumbnail. This process might take very long to complete, as I'm inexperienced with drawing and painting, it took me almost 1 hour just to paint one house in 3 layer rings. So any help with this process would be greatly appreciated. Any other suggestion to ease up (or replace) the painting process is appreciated as well! [ Jun 10th, 2021 ] Removed the frame lines from the second layer and fixed the empty gap in the horizon. I've also limited the z speed to a maximum and minimum of 16 and -16 coordinates respectively. [ Sep 30th, 2020 ] Changed Turbo Mode detection, it is now based on the scratch timer instead of the computer's time, as scratch timer became more reliable since version 3.0 came out. Fixed some issues the latest structure had. [ Dec 14th, 2017 ] Developed an FPS calculator and a Turbo Mode detector, based on the computer time, since the scratch timer is a little bit unreliable with Turbo Mode on. [ Dec 7th 2017 ] Started the creation of a vector structure, to be able to detail the blocks (i.e: detail the buildings with windows, and other street objects, without actually paint the vector structure in the blocks) Made a little adjustments to the first and second structures, to facilitate the removal of frame lines. Started the removal of the frame lines and also applying some shadows below the buildings! [ Nov 25th, 2017 ] Frame lines of the first layer were completely removed. [ Nov 22nd, 2017 ] Re-created the second layer buildings in the new deeper structure and make them 1 block taller. I think the layers are more realistic now. [ Nov 20th, 2017 ] Created a deeper structure to be able to draw objects and buildings further away from the track. You can compare the old and new structures in the 'TestLayer' sprite. The next step will be re-draw the current buildings in the new structure, to see how it looks. [ Nov 19th, 2017 ] Added one backward layer with a 'parallax' like effect to make it more realistic, still have to fix some minor problems though. [ Nov 18th, 2017 ] Fixed the blocks scaling problem, where sometimes there were empty spaces between blocks. First prototype of the road's painting.
