Charwood. Charwood is their best friend. Charwood is who she depends on for advice and comfort. Charwood is an amazing friend, she couldn't wish for a better one. Charwood was also dead. It had to come eventually, that Leopardlight knew. But couldn't they have stayed with her a little longer? She didn't even get to clear up all the lies she'd told them recently. About the real story of how she got her scars. About how she wasn't feeling alright anymore. About the temptations. She stood there, breathless. Tears streaming silently down her face and then evaporating into nothing. This couldn't be real. It had to be a nightmare. Who was she to depend on now? No one else would understand. No one else would listen to her without accusing of her being a monster. Charwood was the only one she needed, the only one she wanted. Why did they have to go? She would ask herself this question a lot, mostly about Windstormswoop or her mother. But Charwood? Why them? Couldn't she have stayed with them a little longer? Laughed with them a little longer, talked and joked with them a little longer, running away from all their problems a little longer? This was the last string, wasn't it? She knew it had to come eventually. Not only Charwood's death, although she expected it to be moons before that, but also the temptations. Growing stronger. Growing louder. Their demands screamed in her head, howling demands she would never carry out. No. The old her would never do that. The old her would never hurt someone. But the old her believed in peace and rainbows and butterflies. The old her was too childish. No wonder reality stomped her down like a bug. No wonder the old hers castle walls came crumbling down so easily. As Leopardlight continoued to stare into the seemingly endless sky, she tried her best to ignore the emptiness inside of her, the mournful cry of her heart. The aching that wouldn't stop consuming her mind. The eternal thought of the more time she could have spent with them. Instead, she listened to the temptations. Their howling, merciless cries of rage. Their clawing, gruesome demands, The peace they brought to her mind compared to the loss of Charwood. She felt her claws unsheathe as she slowly walked away from her perch. The temptations were in control now. As long as they kept her distratced.
Not really the music I was looking for specifically, but it'll have to do. NOTE: This does not mean that Leopardlight will constantly be in this state. Only most of the time. For those of you who are confused, Leopardlight is basically trying to distract herself from her grief by using the temptations. Since the temptations get worse over time the more she listens to them and moments of peace decrease, this will do more harm then good. (If you would like me to explain what the temptations are, just ask! I'll be happy to explain ^^)
