He deems caring about others a distraction and will do anything in the pursuit of science. Shockwave, for this reason, is the head scientist of the Decepticons. While he typically does not engage in combat, he has various weapons at his disposal, like being able to turn his arms into cannons and releasing extra arms from his back. Before the war, he was the Chief of Science and Engineering on Cybertron. However, he secretly supplied the growing Decepticon movement with weapons and technology. Eventually, Zeta Prime learned this and demoted him from his position and imprisoned him. While being transported to Garrus-9, Shockwave's lack of empathy caused him to quickly take out the two guards transporting him brutally and swiftly. Shortly after, Shockwave joined Megatron and the Decepticons in Kaon.
