For those of you who read the novel version of SLL and are caught up (I posted ch. 26 yesterday), you might be wondering about Illesior's sudden mood swings. (Don't we all?) I've been thinking about it, and I've gone through a lot and known so many people, that I feel it's time I set some things straight. You might not know this, but I'm neurodivergent. I have ADHD and I'm a low-needs autistic (some people call it high-functioning but I guess that's "offensive" now???), and those are just the things I was born with. Recently I was diagnosed with PTSD, depression and anxiety. And aside from myself, several people close to me have similar conditions. My brothers both have depression, anxiety, and are low-needs autistic. My half-sister is bipolar (though she's gotten it treated don't worry), and my biological mother is bipolar, schizophrenic, and has NPD. I feel like, based on my own research and experiences, that it's entirely plausible for characters in SLL to be accurately protrayed as neurodivergent. I feel like it makes things about the way they act all the more believable.
