STUDIO HERE: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/34340533 Welcome to the Scratch Community Helper Foundation! This studio is a place for all the helpers around Scratch to come together, new helpers to join, and decide on special actions. FAQ: Q. What's our goal? A. Our goal is to spread positivity, kindness and help out all New/Scratchers! We follow (and encourage others to do so too!) the community guidelines and terms of use, which can be accessed here: https://scratch.mit.edu/community_guidelines & here: https://scratch.mit.edu/terms_of_use Q. What is SCHF? A. The scratch community helper foundation, commonly appreviated to SCHF, is a place where old and new helpers can come together, learn how to help in the community and make scratch a better place! New helpers will submit forms and then be sorted into cabins (group), where their chosen founder, will teach them the ways around the scratch community, and how to make scratch a better place! From there they can be promoted and meet in the studio to discuss with other helpers :) Q. How to Apply (Go here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1119290075/ ) A: To apply remix or create a project based on the form, and awnsering all the questions of why you should be apart of this wonderful program! Make sure you get the codeword too! From there 5-10 scratchers will be chosen and sorted into cabins as Recruits (assigned to a founder) where they'll learn how to be the best curator and helper they can be! <3 From there when their founder says their ready they will graduate to a helper! Q: What are the Roles, and how do I get one?: You can get a role just by being accepted into the studio! There are three tiers. Community Captains (Founders) - Captains have a cabin, a studio, where they are assigned recruits who will curate the cabin. These recruits can use their cabin as their space to bond, talk, ask questions, and their captain can mentor them on community helper things! Captains will be assigned by the founders. If a Community Helper (defined below) performs extraordinarily and is mature and ready for the leadership, under our (the founders) discretion, we will invite them to become a captain and have their own Cabin of mentorship Community Helper - Once a recruit seems mature and helpful and kind enough to become a Community Helper (the next level up), their Captain will let know they've graduated from a recruit and can now call themselves a community helper! Community Recruit - Everyone who applies and is accepted goes through an orientation project, and upon completion of orientation they'll become a recruit! They will also join their captains cabin for mentoring on how to become a better helper around Scratch. They will have a choice in which Captain/Cabin they get, as they can pick their top two and the founders will assign one to them Q: I applied and got in does that mean I can choose my cabin! A: Once your application has been approved by the Community Captains, you will be asked to select your top two cabin choices you would like to be a part of (list above). Please note that this does not guarantee you becoming a member in any of them - if cabins are unbalanced, we may automatically sort you into a particular one. Q: How many scratchers are allowed to be in a cabin at once? A. Up to 7 Scratchers Per Cabin! Q. Who are the cabin leaders? A. @TheDoglover796 (TDL), @--Kitti-Kat-- (Mango) @ZendraGames (Zendra), @StardreamT2 (Star/Stardream) Q. Why am I on the waitlist? A. To make the program as personalized/individualized, so everyone can get the training they need, and be able to help as many scratchers as possible, we're accepting 7 scratchers per cabin at a time. But if you don't get chosen! Fear not! You'll be put on the wait-list and make it into the next cabin round! Q. Can I choose what cabin I'm in? A. On your form you'll be able to suggest the 2 cabins you would like to be in, but if those cabins are full you will be assigned to whatever is available. We will take your suggest into high consideration though, and try to assign everyone with the best fit for them. Q: What is a cabin? A: A cabin is a group of 7 scratchers run by one of the Captains (4 founders) that will be an organized place where you will receive specialized training on how to become the best SDS helper you can be, and make the scratch community a positive and awesome environment. You'll be able to interact with your cabin mates, and have some customization over your studio, plus work to become a scratch helper! Q. Can I be a community captain? A. No...currently there are four founders (captains) who all have experience with many scratch events, and run the cabins. In the case a helper, performers extremely well, and shows outstanding in the scratch community, the founders could possibly talk about adding another member, but in that case everyone will know. Plus the studio is extremely new.
FAQ (cont.): Q. Do I need to have any previous experience in the SDS to join/apply? A. Nope! All scratchers/new scratchers are welcome <3 Q. I got in! Does that mean I'm going to be invited to every Scratch Event Studio?! A. Nope! This is run separate from the Scratch team, and does not guarantee you being accepted into any studio! This is just to make the community a better place! :) Q. If I'm already an SDS manager/helper will I be able to bypass the system? A. Yes! If 2+ of the founders agree (which they most likely will) you'll be able to be automatically promoted to a helper! ask more questions below!
