idea dump (DO NOT STEAL ty <3) - ⊹ nicknames : rainswept, rain, rai/ray ⊹ gender & prns : genderfaun, he/fae ⊹ orientation : unlabeled ⊹ app title ideas : … idk HELP i’ll figure something out later general concepts - ⊹ fake prophet - starting with an accident, rainswept will have found himself caught in a web of lies. always having been uncannily aware of everything around him - a product of his constant wariness - he’ll realize one day that he could use this knowledge to make others believe whatever he wanted, if he phrased it in the right way. although what he does has nothing to do with any actual power to divine truths, that doesn’t stop rainswept from pretending to be who he isn’t: an oracle. despite the fact that the start of this facade will begin accidentally (if i were to win rainswept it’d probably begin with him pretending to tell the future to a kit and then that kit telling everyone about it, or something along those lines), rain soon found himself entranced by the power his words held. soon he’ll come to find himself tangled in the lies he’s spewed, and his own self having donned a persona drastically different from who he once knew. ⊹ people watching - rai can often be found sitting in a secluded corner, silently observing his clanmates and learning things about them. he’ll also follow people around if he believes they’re doing something interesting or suspicious, and spy on them. he uses the information he gathers for his future “readings”, and stores the unusable away for his own secret purposes… ⊹ never comfortable - rainswept is constantly preparing to leave. although he grew up in thunderclan, he hasn’t truly forgotten his first moon as a loner. of course, the true details are hazy, but he remembers the feeling of abandonment clear as day, and so he’s still wary of everything. he’s hesitant to connect with others, and making true friends is even harder when he’s in constant fear of being discovered. he’s loathe to attach himself to material possessions, instead keeping his belongings to a small collection of necessities that can be easily gathered and evacuated if need be. ⊹ melancholic poet - although he’s a “prophet”, his worldview is a lot more cynical than the open-minded persona he presents to the world. he wouldn’t tell many about this, but he has a strong affinity for the spoken word as well as creative writing in general. his works aren’t meant to be heard anyone else but him, though, which is why his true thoughts are reflected in them - much more melancholic than many would have assumed him capable. - ⊹ gets defensive when his past/birth parents are brought up ⊹ overbearingly protective of rivulet ⊹ very mysterious and contemplative on the outside… (like what’s that guy thinking i wonder eyeballs) ⊹ explains a key indication of him being chosen as an oracle/prophet is the flowers growing out of his fur - claims that this trait indicates a possibility of inheriting the ability to see “beyond” ⊹ very paranoid when it comes to interactions with those he’s less sure about - constantly worries about his secret being revealed, leaving him as a fraud and a nothing ⊹ creates a garden of __ (insert some divine-, really-cool-and-mystical-sounding name here) where he does most of his reading and gives people plants from it for goodwill, healing, and other positive hopes (similar to how psychics sell crystals to promote these ideals) mannerisms - ⊹ doesn’t use contractions - although rain uses apostrophes and things of the likes in his thoughts and internal monologues, his hesitance to relax bleeds into his own interactions with others. more often than not, he’ll reject contractions (can’t -> cannot, you’re -> you are, etc) in favor of more “formal” speaking. ⊹ walks very quietly - rainswept has taught himself how to traipse in a manner akin to wraiths, silent and undetectable.
