Nova is very grumpy and negative. If you were to tell her to drink from the glass that's half full, she would point out that doing so would just make it even emptier. She usually acts nonchalant, like she doesn't care about things. She's very hard to excite. Nova is usually quiet and doesn't talk much. When she does, it is usually to point out something that someone's doing wrong or to make a comment when something's not going well. Despite her prickly exterior (and outer interior, for that matter), she can be surprisingly kind. Not in the soft, more compassionate way, but rather like giving some tough love. If someone points this out, however, she'll deny it. Nova has trust issues, but once you prove yourself to her, she is very loyal. She was born to some lower-class griffons in Bluesteel Town. They didn't have much money, and were barely able to feed themselves. Nova pitched in the best she could, collecting and selling seashells, plants, and pretty rocks. One day, when she was five, she was in the market, trying to bargain. She stole a necklace, thinking that she could sell it later and get her family enough food to last a week or two. Her theft had not been as clean as she had thought, however, and a hydra in the stand nearby spotted her and called her out. She panicked and fled with the necklace, soon pursued by (insert whoever the law enforcement in a town would be). After she thought she lost them, Nova went back to her family. Of course she hadn't, though, and the law enforcement found them. Her parents were arrested, and she was nearly captured, but she escaped. Nova left Bluesteel, blaming herself for her parents' fate. She found that she was actually quite good at stealing things and evading capture, after a bit of experience. She went to Thieves' Alley, where she made a name for herself. I guess you could say she's a thief with morals. She never steals from those who are unfortunate, whether unhealthy or just low on money. She currently has 50 coins. She sells most of what she steals to Esmerelda, my other character, who is a shopkeeper.
Thanks, @Afraid-Of-Spiders, for the template. RP Sample: The scene where she steals the necklace and runs home: Nova shoved the small basket full of fruit back at the phoenix. "Fine!" She turned her beak up and stomped away from the stand. "I'm just going to tell everyone that your fruit is full of worms!" She growled under her breath. What an arrogant, greedy, ignorant, vain little featherbrain. Didn't he see that she needed that fruit? She glared down at her side. The outline of bones was clearly visible, as was that hollow that should be her stomach. After giving herself a moment to calm down, Nova stopped and scanned the stands, looking for someone that might be swayed by a poor, hungry little griffon. Or maybe she could annoy someone into paying her just to go away. Wait. Something sparkly caught her eye. She saw a necklace, made of real jewels, on one of the stands. The owner was a large, fierce-looking dragon. He was turned away from the necklace, focused on the customers on the other side. Without thinking, Nova crept forward. She folded her wings, attempting to hide her very bright feathers with the dark ones. She crouched next to the stand and peeked over it. The dragon was still occupied. She reached up and grabbed the necklace in one swift motion. As she tucked it under her wing, her mind briefly flashed, 'What have I done?' Some part of her must have decided that she could sell it for food. "HEY! GRIFFON!" Nova's heart stopped. She glanced around frantically. Across the street, a hydra was pointing at her. "You need to pay for that!" The shop owner turned to see Nova and the empty spot where the necklace once was. His face was a contortion of fury, and he roared at her. Nova turned and fled. She leaped over a cart and a surprised dragon, dodged a clothesline, and ducked into a dark alley between two stands. She heard shouts behind her and pursuing feet. I'll leave off there.
