MAJOR UPDATE! Evacuation alert was wrong. All good now. Partially. Okay . . . so. Let's start at the beginning. On Tuesday, Jan. 7, the Palisades Fire started. My grandma came over because she was ordered to evacuate. Wednesday, my mom picked us up and she was crying. I asked what was wrong, and she said that she didn't think that my grandma's house was going to make it. This morning, we found out that she was right. Everything she had was burned. Every last shred of memory of my grandfather - gone (not gonna elaborate on that). Later today (like, afternoon-ish), I was in the car and a warning popped up on my mom's phone that said "be ready to evacuate," and I was like, holy [crud]. Like, what? And, at home, I've REALLY been trying to be the positive, focus-on-the-now, "it's okay" kind of person, but then I see the evacuation thing and sort freaked out, but not out loud? Yea.
