Morning sun: Orange cat on the right - Female, but acts like a boy Silver / Shimmer: Blue-grey cat on the left - Transgender, because transgender people are cool owo I don't know if I should call the one on the left Silver, or Shimmer, and I don't want to make a warrior cat name either...hmm...I'll keep calling changing their name from Silver to Shimmer throughout the story. ----- CHAPTER 1 ------- The screams of fear and pain repeated endlessly. Morning Sun stared at the cats that circled around her - A black cat with green eyes lay in the corner of the room, stretched out, wearing a tight collar that made it hard for her to breathe. Morning sun looked down. A small, black-and-white puppy with blue eyes. It stared up at her, its eyes filled with fear. It had a belt around its torso, which was slowly pulling it into a chainsaw a few inches away. Standing behind her, was a brownish-yellowish cat. It had a ring around its neck, and what seemed to be like small pipes that were attached to the chunk of metal, and were digging into her neck. Morning Sun let out a yowl of fear. She wasn't used to watching others suffer slowly. The screams echoed through Morning Suns head. She nuzzled down deeper into her bed of straw/hay, and sobbed quietly. "What did I do to deserve these nightmares? What do they mean?" She whispered to herself. Her friend, Silver, opened one eye, and looked at Morning Sun. "Morning Sun...a-are you okay..?" Silver asked sleepily. Morning Sun didn't reply, but continued to let the tears fall. Silver stood up, and went over to Morning sun. She hopped up onto the ledge that Morning Suns' bed was on, and laid down next to her. "It's another nightmare, isn't it?" Silver said quietly, trying not to wake the other barn cats around them. Morning Sun lifted her head. She looked into Silvers eyes and nodded. "I-It's the one...the one where cats are being tortured, killed...and..." She paused, and looked down at her paws that lay in front of her. "I even saw a young pup this time..." The tears still flowed down her cheeks. "And he was tied up, so tightly, he couldn't move or breathe...and he was being dragged into a chainsaw..." Morning Sun sobbed. "T-there was n-n-nothing that I could do t-to...help...I couldn't m-move..." She paused as she let out another whimper of fear and grief. "Morning Sun, it's going to be okay!" Shimmer tried to calm her down (remember, I'll be calling the grey cat Silver and Shimmer, and changing their name, because I can't decide.) "They're just dreams, okay? They can't hurt you." Shimmer shushed her. "Just...just get some sleep for now, okay?" Silver shuffled closer, and laid their head on their paws. Silver began to snore quietly. Morning Sun stood up, and stretched. She was still shaking from her nightmare. She jumped off the ledge. Silver stirred. The golden she-cat padded quietly over to the window on the other side of the barn, and hopped up. She looked up at the night sky. "Please...stop sending me these nightmares, and let me have a normal night...even for just one day..." Morning Sun woke up to feel the warmth of the sun shining on her fur, which glowed like flame. She stood up and stretched. She had fallen asleep on the windowsill. A couple of the barn cats had already woken up, and they were sitting in groups, talking to each other. The rest of the cats were still asleep in their nest, some, awake in their straw beds, and talking to the cat next to them. Silver had just woken up, and was stretching in the bed that they had slept in for the night. Morning Sun saw something move in the grass. She crouched down, still on the window sill. 1...2...3...and...pounce! She leaped down from the wooden windowsill, landing squarely on the rabbit that was standing around in the grass. It made an attempt to escape, clawing at Morning Suns paws, but failed. Morning Sun dug her teeth into the rabbits throat, killing it. It had the scent of human on it, and another strange smell she didn't recognize, but she didn't really care. "Morning Sun! That's where you are!" Morning Sun turned around. Shimmer pushed the barn door open a little further, and ran over to their friend. "I was looking for you. Is that rabbit for us? It looks delicious!" Shimmer licked their lips as they looked at the rabbit that was dangling from Morning Suns mouth. "Yep! What are we waiting for? Let's dig in!" She meowed, placing it on the ground between the two cats. They began to tear into the rabbit, but then stopped after a few mouthfuls. "Uhh, I'm not really hungry anymore...do you want to eat the rest?" Silver asked, looking dizzy. "N-no thanks, I don't feel like..." Before Morning Sun could finish her sentence, everything went black, and she crashed to the ground. "M-Morning Sun?! Are you okay? Wake...up...Morn...Morning s.." Silver tried to stand up, but stumbled, and fell to the ground.
