alright, ol' eddy is basically the same, 4-4-2, old, all that good stuff. EXCEPT, he's a freelance built in 1889, he served in both world wars, he got minor shell shock from w1, but came out of w2 traumatized. from 1945-1950, he could barely talk or sleep. he was left in wartime black up until 1956, where, with the help of James (who's headcannon model is not even started yet), managed to overcome his ptsd, and has been serving the NWR as kind as he was back in the 1920's! [based on the stories of sodor kind of]
