He wasn’t necessarily taught how to self-validate, so he overcompensates by adopting an attitude of superiority over others. He doesn’t actually believe he’s better than anyone else, he just pretends he is to make himself feel better. As the boss/don he often has a lot of pressure and expectations put on him, so most people just assume that he’s super self assured due to his position. This doesn’t help his case because at times that makes him feel like he needs to act a certain way to maintain his reputation.
