MERRY LATE CHRISTMAS in 1916, the newly founded "SNER" [Scotland North Eastern Railway"], in preparation for its opening rail service that kicked off the railway in 1918, purchased a batch of NBR H's, one of them being "567829", known to her siblings and colleagues as "The Blissful Blue". [her real name is Sapphire] she ran the opening day train, and because of this, she was a very historical engine that now was practically guaranteed to be preserved, and she was. well, not originally, she was going to be scrapped in 1927, but [like stepney] she was found by the NWR and silently carried over, where she was purchased and preserved to run trains, still in her SNER paint.
