Splatoon 3. The first game I was able to play splatfest. The first game I watched and waited for the release. And yet, I dislike it compared to the other games. Why? Well its really the way the new team did their storymode, idols, and overall characters. (I'm perfectly fine with gameplay. its much better than Splatoon 2.) Characters: Neo 3 (Agent 3) - Honestly has no canon personality. If you go to the Splatoon base website, you can see that Captain, 8, and 4 all have personalities. Plus, the people around the characters talk about the characters so you have at least something to start with. But agent 3? I feel like nintendo shoved an agent in our face and was like "Hey look! they have a sidekick! So cuuuuuuute! Right?" Deep Cut - You could've had story mode without them. Also, three teams is a bit broken, don't you think? They weren't expanded on like the OTH and the squid sisters, who grows on Splatoon 3 player a lot more than the idols of their own game. Captain - Hate me for this, but 3 is just a push for nostalgia. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with them being sanitized. And inner agent 3. but captain? Now it's annoying. Also, Splatoon 3 focuses too much on the "Chaos and 3" theme. Acht - Just like captain, just there to be for fans. "Everyone loved Dedfish so why not make them in side order?" It gets on my nerves. Harmony - Same as Acht. Character appearances: In Splatoon 2, every Splatoon character appears/ is refrenced. And Splatoon 3, doesn't do that. Agent 4? Yeah, Nintendo thinks they can get away with trashing on them. I actually had Pearl as my op for a while for that comment. Side Order: I felt scammed after finishing it. I tried all the palettes. I did all the palettes. And I literally verbally said "That's it??" It felt like a Speedrun to just try to get to the square instead of an actual story. New players: For those player who just started in 3, I can't imagine how hard it is to understand what, who, and how many characters know each other. When I started 2, I felt like that for a bit, but Splatoon 3 cares too much for the nostalgia factor. Things I like about 3: -Better graphics -Tableturf -Seasons -Grandfest area.
