So, as is typically done during the build-up to a new book, an except from the upcoming Warriors book, The Elders’ Quest, was posted on the official website a little while ago. At first, I had no interest in reading it. But when I learned that TEQ is coming out sooner than I excepted (January 7th — less than a month away!), I changed my mine. So I just read it. I really enjoyed it. The prologue was fun because it was filled completely with characters I like (including a certain clan founder I’ve been talking about a lot recently). I don’t really have much to say about Tawnypelt’s and Leafstar’s chapters beside that I’m very interested to see how their character arcs turn out by the end of all this. Moonpaw though… I’ve got some more stuff to say. First off, I am so glad that Sunbeam is her mentor. That kind of thing is such a good way to keep an previous protagonist relevant after their arc. They did the same thing with Ivypool in AVoS, and I’m glad it’s happened again. As you all know, I loved ASC and it’s protagonists, so I’m happy that we’ll be able to still see Sunbeam regularly in Changing Skies. And of course the voice in her head. Honestly, I cannot make any solid theories right now since we only have one chapter to go off. When the concept was first revealed, it gave me vibes of Ashfur at the beginning of TBC. However, we saw the mysterious voice’s form at the end of Chapter 3 and they appear to be a completely new character, so that rules out that idea. Whatever happens, I’m excited to see what this arc has in store! :)
