See this forum post for more information on the event: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/789167 Scratch has teamed up with inspiring young scientist and innovator Gitanjali Rao to celebrate Hour of Code 2024. We’ve created two activities to explore and remix, inspired by her innovations and advocacy. We also invite you to join us for a live Create-Along with Gitanjali and Maren from the Scratch Team on December 10th, at 1pm ET, on our official YouTube channel (youtube.com/c/ScratchTeam). In the first activity option, you can remix our Invention Station starter project or create your own original project that shares your invention design and the invention’s goal or purpose through text and/or a voice recording. See our starter project to learn about Gitanjali’s innovation process. Find our Invention Station starter project here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1047946712, and see our coding cards here for more information and ideas: https://resources.scratch.mit.edu/www/cards/en/ScratchHOC2024Gitanjali-InventionCards.pdf In our second activity option, you can remix our Kindness Community starter project or create your own original project to share a message of kindness, inspired by Gitanjali’s innovative approach to anti-bullying efforts for young people around the world. Find our Kindness Community starter project here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1047946877, and see our coding cards here for more information and ideas: https://resources.scratch.mit.edu/www/cards/en/ScratchHOC2024Gitanjali-KindnessCards.pdf Gitanjali is an author, speaker, and an active promoter of STEM education around the world. She was honored as Forbes “30 Under 30 in Science” in 2019, as well as TIME’s “Top Young Innovator” and “TIME Kid of the Year” for her innovations and the STEM workshops she conducts globally. She inspires young innovators to try new ideas and develop meaningful solutions in community with others. Together, we can make the invisible visible by raising awareness about problems in need of solutions and bringing our ideas to life in prototypes, projects, and products to create amazing things that can change the world! What will you create? =^..^= The 'Hour of Code™'/'Hora del Código®' is a global initiative by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming.
