[ Alienated Innocence - Short Story ] Hooray! This was for a school assignment about a dystopian world, and the limit was two [2] pages. I got a 100 on it and I am ridiculously proud of myself. Anyway, if you're not familiar with Alienated Innocence, it's the second-oldest story of mine [but also the most neglected]. I think it's glad to have a mere glimpse of the spotlight I give to my other stories. It's not exactly dystopian, but it does have a corrupt president forcing everyone to worship him. ...Oh yeah, the alien. I forgot to mention the alien. Yeah that sorta kick-starts the entire story. This is partially canon, since this was written with a 2 page limit and there are things I could've tweaked and revised. Also there's planned to be multiple subplots and whatnot. Something irrelevant too: I would’ve made a more detailed piece of art for this, but I had lotsa stuff to do. Sorry… Sorry if this is hard to read... however, I am planning to post this to Toyhouse, and I'll format it so that it'll be easier on the eyes! [ Ok now you get to read. ] Lime slowly looked outside her door, seeing an odd creature on the porch. “...Um… who are you- no, what are you?” she asked, warily. “Hello, human! I am Ospo!” he exclaimed. “I was thrown here from my planet… is that an ankle monitor?” “...I’m on house arrest. I don’t think you should be here, um…” Lime was wary of this new creature, but he seemed friendly enough. Of course, the president might execute him, which led Lime to think about Thymein, the country where she lived in. It was in shambles due to this president named Obtusit. Everyone thought he would be a great president, but he was not, and forced everyone to pray to him. There was also a big commotion about food, and every few hours, a police officer would take some of her food, so Lime’s hard work just went down the drain. Oh, how 2048 was the worst year of all! With an alien in the picture, it got very risky to be here - the president would definitely execute him. He wouldn’t know of any of this chaos at all, and how would he communicate? So many thoughts were in Lime’s head that it was overwhelming. She shook her head and continued talking with Ospo. Through their exchanged words and the bounciness that he had, she actually sort of liked his personality and character, and allowed him to live with her for the time being. “First impressions are good impressions,” she said, preparing a small meal. “I’m really sorry for the lack of food, the nation is in shambles…” “It is alright, my kind doesn’t need too much food!” responded Ospo, being handed a small bowl of radish stew. He eagerly ate it up, causing Lime to smile. “You’re a nice person, even though we just met.” The two continued to converse, talking through the chaos in the city. It gave a sense of- BANG, BANG, BANG! The pair jumped at the noise, coming from the door. Ospo shook, and Lime tried to comfort him. However, what she had to say next didn’t exactly help with his anxiety. “That must be the police coming to steal my hard-earned crops… I think you should hide, the government nowadays isn't very accepting…” explained a somber Lime. Ospo, who was still quivering from such a loud noise, promptly hid in a closet inside the bathroom. Lime took a few breaths and slowly opened the door. “We are here to collect your food- oh, not Lime!” “Satin? Hana?” “Yeah, it’s us,” said Hana, looking down in guilt. “I don’t want to be a cop for this fat man, much less steal your food for him…” Satin put a hand on his sister’s shoulder. “We don’t want to be here… Just give us a SINGLE carrot, and we’re good to go,” said Satin, tapping his foot. Lime nodded, feeling quite glum. Her friends don’t want to obey this guy, but they face death and worse punishments if they don’t. “Help!”

Description

[ continued ] Don't read this before you read the top! Satin and Hana looked around Lime’s house. Lime tried to persuade them not to go in, but it was too late - a certain closet toppled over and crashed on the floor, revealing an alien - Ospo! “...What is that???” exclaimed Satin and Hana simultaneously. “Ooookay. I think I’m gonna have to take more crops, along with this guy!! Who is-” “Please don’t take him away, his name is Ospo, he- he’s a nice person, and he just wants to-” It was too late. Ospo was dragged out of Lime’s house, along with some of her crops. Lime’s police friends had turned on her for keeping a biological being that could potentially have diseases and share false information to the nation. “Lime, you’re gonna get arrested again,” sighed Satin, leaving her in the dust. Lime looked very distraught, but slowly formed a plan while the officers were leaving. When they were gone, she took out a paperclip and unlocked the ankle monitor. She climbed out a window and traveled through to the capital city, Kyupo. It wasn’t hard, actually - she just needed to hide due to the amount of police patrolling. She reached the capital building - the Food House, as the president called it - and snuck in through yet another window. As Lime overheard a conversation inside the building, since there were so many cops outside, Obtusit thought that no one would be able to get in the building. He was very wrong. She slammed the doors open, and everyone stared at her. Satin, Hana, Ospo, and many other captives and cops were there, along with the dreaded, morbidly obese president: Obtusit. “Fight me! If you win, you can kill me off! If I win, you give up your presidential spot and let go of Ospo and everyone else here!” shouted Lime, desperately wanting his presidency to be over. Obtusit ate an entire turkey and stood up. Everyone in the room stood to watch an epic fight - a determined farmer girl and this rotund ball of meat. Lime threw a hard punch, and Obtusit was so affected by it that he exploded, leaving guts and organic matter all over the large, grand room. The spectators, now covered in flesh, blood, and the bones of their dead president, started attacking Lime, picking her up and trying to take her to prison. Satin, Hana, and Ospo just stood there, not sure what to do. Suddenly, Ospo started screaming and crying as he was grabbed by his ankles, being dragged away with Lime. Satin and Hana slowly followed, scared and unsure. The duo were going to prison… Or were they? To the surprise of everybody, they were taken to the outside, where a crowd of people were parading and congratulating them. Apparently, the conversation before Lime fought Obtusit was about thousands of complaints that Obtusit was doing a really bad job as president. It just so happened that Lime actually helped everyone. Lime beamed as she realized this, and shyly waved to the crowd of people. She jumped onto the floor and took Ospo with her. “They scanned me all over, Lime. I don’t have any diseases and I’m not a threat to this country. Sorry…” apologized Ospo, looking guilty. “It’s alright, and I forgive you. Look at this crowd…” Lime walked towards the crowd, waving everyone over to hear what she had to say. “It’s over, everyone. Now this president is gone. And he deserved it, right?” Everyone roared in a triumphant agreement, congratulating Lime for being the hero they all needed.
