Paddle-tail lures are soft, rubbery, plastic fishing lures that imitate a small fish. In the UK they are used to target many predatorial fish species including pike, perch and zander. Paddle-tails get their name from their tail feature, which in the water, flaps around creating a swimming action that will attract other fish. They are usually used on a jig head. A jig head is a hook which has a circular weight where the eye of the hook would usually be. Instead, the eye is located on top of the weight allowing the lure to move up in the water.
