So I've wanted to make a game for a LONG time now, like since I was a wee little lad, but I've not had any idea how to or what to make. However, thats changed. I started learning Unity Game Engine a while back, and I kinda stopped to do other things, but I think I'm ready to get making games again. I want to make a Military Simulator game with anywhere from 15 minute to 30-45 minute rounds, so meant to be played long, where each side is given a set amount of munitions, carry ones, and other things, and is tasked with fighting another team with the same resources. Each team has one "General" or commander who is the only one who can respawn people (through Reinforcments) and if they die, nobody can respawn if they die. Every player would have access to the same weapons, cosmetics, and for the most part, features. To add some spice, it wouldn't focus on one "era" of warfare, like WWII or Modern, but incorporate all those into different eras players can pick and choose between. The lore, as I see it now, would involve each team being able to time travel from the far future, where warfare is unneeded in modern society so everybody gets along despite wanting to fight, to other time periods to fight. Players would also be able to choose whether they play with friends or a large group they know or with random players. To stop people being toxic, when a round is over you can vote whether an individual was a great sport, or a poor sport, and if you vote them good, they get a higher "Rep" score, if your vote them toxic, they get a lower "Rep" score. Players with lower Rep scores are recommended less often to servers, meaning longer waits, because the players with higher or more middle scored get priority. It also means your more likely to be paired with more toxic players, so you learn what it feels like to be on the other end. It would include fun mechanics, a diverse range of weapons, realistic vehicles for certain time periods, a large variety of maps and modes, and many different ways to play. It would also players to change pretty much whatever they want about their character. Oh, and did I mention? I'm going to develop it for, at first PC, but later for VR, which will have it's own independent servers from PC players. I hope to release it on Itch.io for early development and then, if I make some money or get the game looking and running better, on Steam and my end goal is for it to be officially released on the Meta store. Any ideas for features, modes, customization options, whatever, LMK! Anyway that's it, have a good day :>
Read above ^ The game is definitely going to be made in Unity. With this idea too Strategy is more important than actually cutting the other teams forces down because the only way to really win is to either exhaust their resources which may take too long or take out their general so they can't call in reinforcements, which also means protecting your own general so players would have to find clever ways of playing
