Since the "Gem Crisis" & the 1st interstellar war against GASA, the Marican space fleet has been expanded to "Rule the cosmos just as the British navy once ruled the seas" in order to get the maximum protection of the Solar system & Mars. Marican fleets: >Earth Guard >Martian squadron >Plutonian squadron >Space-Guard(kinda like the coast guard but in space & much stronger) >Outer Guard. The mass fortifications of the Asteroid belts are about 90% finished, & will make it IMPOSSIBLE for any enemy to cross them. Almost EVERY Asteroid is stuffed with fortifications, WWI style trenches, miles of tunnels & bunkers dug in, its own shield(s), & guarded & supported by the now massive space-force. Since the Asteroid belts are the 1st & 2nd line of defense for Earth any Alien army will have to fight tooth & nail for nearly every SQUARE INCH of the Asteroid belts! our soldiers are ordered to give their all to any attackers & to never surrender!(In good old fashioned Japanese style :D) Other random side notes: We have also been gifted sub-space portal technology & have reversed engineered it to create big "sub-space waves" across the solar system, making the solar system too dangerous to use portals with, so no super advanced aliens can get any ideas....... But we have also been reverse engineering the Gem's warp pads(captured from their abandoned moon base) & hope to use them to make civilian travel across the solar system much faster.
