Your phantom wings twitched with excitement. “I’m in the Eye Cabin.” “Great.” The counselor said, handing you a shirt with bug eyes on it. “Your cabin’s right next to the Feather Cabin. There aren’t as many insect alterhumans here as the other cabins, but I think there’s a few.” “Thank you!” You said, running to the cabin. What the counselor said was right- it was a smaller cabin than the Paw Cabin and the Fang Cabin, but, honestly, it looked like the perfect size. You swung the door open, and there wasn’t anybody there. “I should have expected this.” You said, throwing your stuff on one of the bunks and stepping back outside. Just behind the cabin, there was a nice little cabin where people were making gear and crafts. You decided to head over there- there was nothing better to do, plus it looked fun. You sat down next to a person who was wearing these beautiful wings and an insect mask. “Oh, hey!” They said. “Are you in my cabin?” You nodded. “Cool! I’m Bea, the bee! Or what I mean to say is, my name is Bea, I go by fae/faer pronouns, and I’m a bee otherhearted who gets shifts!” “Oh cool!” You said. “Did you make those wings yourself?” “No, sadly. I found them off Amazon. I made the mask myself, though.” Fae said. “I mean, it’s a really cool mask. Insect masks are probably the hardest thing to make.” The two of you kept making gear and talking when suddenly, a voice came on over the intercom. “All new students, come to the cafeteria!” “Do you wanna go?” You asked. “Eh, I kinda wanna keep making gear. Plus, the counselors that gave us our shirts already explained everything to us.” Bea replied. “Oh, alright!” You said. A few seconds after that, the sky started to fill with clouds and it got colder. “Oh man, it looks like rain out here. Wanna head into the library?” Bea asked, looking up at the sky.
