“I’ll stay in the Paw Cabin.” I nodded. “Great.” The counselor smiled, handing you a blue shirt with a paw on it. “It’s the first cabin next to the director’s cabin. Since there are a lot of paw’ types, there are a lot of bunks. Just choose whichever one suits you.” “Thanks!” I replied, heading off to the Paw Cabin. Suddenly, just as I was about to enter the cabin, I could feel something aching on my head. My hands instantly glided up to it. “Ears…?” I could feel phantom ears twitching upon my head, and it hurt. Suddenly something shifted in me, and I ended up rolling around on the ground and running on quads. It wasn’t long before I found myself hunting somebody’s tail. The person turned around and looked at me. “Oh shoot.” I thought. “Oh, thank goodness.” They smiled. “For a second I thought you were about to pull my tail. You know, therian problems. Or alterhuman problems, I should probably say.” I chuckled sheepishly. “So you don’t blame me for almost murdering your tail?” The person chuckled. “No, of course not. You were probably shifting anyway. I’m Terri, she/her, and I’m a cross fox therian and a wolf cambismear. Nice to meet you!” I smiled. “Oh hey! So you’re in the Paw Cabin too, right?” “Yeah, I am.” She answered. “Crazy that we’re, like, the first people here, right?” “I don’t think we’re exactly the first people here. There’s a group of people doing quads over there.” I said. “But I think the majority of people aren’t here yet.” Just then, the gates opened and tons of people flooded through, heading to the cafeteria with their letters. “I stand corrected.” Terri stared at the people. “You wanna go with them? Or go do quads with the others?”
