It was a calm and peaceful summer day when you got the letter. You were doing what you would normally do on the weekends, feeding crows, ravens, magpies, and a few cats. Suddenly, one of your favorite crows, Edgar, landed on your shoulder. “Oh hi, little crow man! How are you doing today? Find any shinies?” He nodded and dropped a piece of shiny golden paper in your hand. You smiled. “Aw, thanks!” That’s when you noticed- the alterhuman symbol on the back. It was an envelope, addressed to you. You opened up the envelope. It read, “If you are reading this and you’re an alterhuman, congratulations! You’ve been invited to an alterhuman summer camp! Attached is the camp’s official uniform, in female, male, or gender-neutral (if you want to wear it, you totally don’t have to!) We also sent along some gear of your theriotype(s) if you want it! See you at the camp, you’ll find the portal in the nearest forest next to your house! And remember, be there or be square! From the desk of Beatrix Nightingale, the director of the camp. Can’t wait to see you!” You read it, still in a little bit of shock. You looked around. There wasn’t any hidden cameras. This was real. “Huh.” You turned to Edgar. “Maybe I should start calling you passenger pigeon instead of little crow man.” You chuckled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You had walked into the forest, looking for the portal. “It’s gotta be here somewhere…” You trailed off. “Maybe in here…” You stepped through an archway of trees and when you stepped out, you were in a beautiful clearing filled with flowers. In the middle of the clearing was a campfire, surrounded by cabins. On one side was a quadrobics and arts-and-crafts area, and on the other side was a cafeteria. You looked around. There weren’t many people here, just a few sitting around the campfire. You looked up to see a counselor dressed in a yellow shirt with an otherkin symbol on it. You waved towards them. They came up to you and smiled. “Oh, hi!” They looked at the letter you were holding in you hand. “You’re one of our first-years, right? Welcome! Here, come into the director’s cabin and I’ll get you situated.” You followed them to the director’s cabin. When you opened the door, you could immediately feel how peaceful and calm it was. The sweet scent of pine drifted into your nose from the forest scented candle on the table. The counselor sat down at the table. “First of all,” they asked, “what are your type/types? If you have multiple types’, then just choose the cabin that has most of your types in it, or the one of the types that you feel the most connected to. There are 5 cabins, which are the Paw Cabin (for all earthly animals with paws), the Feather Cabin (for birds and some dinosaur paleotypes) the Scale Cabin (for dragontypes, lizardtypes, and anything with scales), the Fang Cabin (for otherkin, otherhearted, mythotherians and anything else) and the Eye Cabin (for insects, arachnids, annalids, and bugs as such). So, what’s it going to be?”
This is a choose-your-own adventure story, so you get to choose which cabin you’ll be in! Some creatures are a grey area when it comes to cabins, so if you’re confused about what cabin you’re in, just ask!
