EPISODE 2: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1113531864/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Transcript: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -Scratchcode: Welcome to episode one of "Debugger's Coffee Table". Today we're going to discuss whether cats or dogs are better. -TAC: The first thing that we're going to discuss on this is that cats are the superior animal to ANY OTHER ANI- -beep- -TAC: To dogs. I mean, I might be a little bit biased, because I'm kind of allergic to dogs, but I just always liked cats, I mean, I've grown up with cats. I mean, in case you couldn't tell by my username (TheAutocorrectingCat), I love cats, they're my favorite animal. One thing that I think makes them a lot better than dogs is that they don't really, like, come up to you and lick you and stuff. I've just always hated that sort of stuff. I mean, I hate anything, sticky and gross, like, I don't like stickers, but I don't really like when an animal comes up to me and starts licking me. Anyhow, what's your opinion on this? I mean, I know you like cats better, 'cause you kinda suggested this, but... -Scratchcode: Yeah, I agree with you. I grew up with both cats and dogs, but there's always been a clear difference that dogs are...disgusting. Like, dogs are just not that good. Because, sure, they might help you and bring you stuff or whatever, but they're MESSY. They do...the...bathroom thing wherever they want. They really don't care. Sure, you can train them to go outside, but still, why do you need to clean that up with your own hand? Cats are superior in this way because they just go to the litter box and then you can just grab every- grab the litter box and pour it all into a bag. No need to touch anything. Cats on the other hand...they're just better. They act like they own the world, they act like they own you. But they're still just better there. They sit on your lap, they're fluffier. And let's not even start talking about the abomination called a pug. Like, seriously, you took a nice-looking, long-nosed dog, and then you smashed an 18-wheeler into its nose to create the horrific abomination of a pug. Like, seriously, you're actually just making it suffer more. Not only does it look like it can't breathe, it quite literally cannot breathe. It's hard for pugs to breathe because they were bred so that their nose and face were completely squished like that. And even then, you can actually train cats, it's just way harder. You can give them treats and stuff. They will look like they're ignoring you, but they're actually learning stuff and you can actually train them to do something, just like dogs. Sure, they aren't that strong and big, and can't just, like...I dunno, like, their sense of smell is not as strong as a dog, but it's still...it's just all you need for a cat or a pet. You don't need some slobbery, dirty dog putting its paws all over your carpet and tile. -TAC: Yeah, I definitely agree with you, and, about the selective breeding thing, I actually have an image of what pugs looked like before selective breeding...I'll try to show it on the screen right now...I'm pretty sure that they do it with cats too, which are kinda adorable, but I'm pretty sure that was selective breeding as well. A lot of people believe that dogs are better because you can train them, and you can't train a cat, but you CAN train a cat. I've trained my cat before to walk on two legs for a little bit. Um, a lot of people use, like, the clicker method where you click, uh, a little clicker and then you give them a treat after they do what you want them to do. It's honestly kinda fun to see what your cat can do. I'm interested to know what breed of dog you grew up with. With cats, for me, I've just had American Shorthairs and American Longhairs...um, my cats right now, Bosche and Moushi, they got their names from Diary of Anne Frank, where her cats that lived in the place with her were named Bosche and Moushi. My mom teaches 8th grade ELA, so that's where we got the idea from. The only dogs that I've really grown up with, um, next door to me there used to be a pug named Jake, he passed away a little earlier this year, I think they're planning on getting a new dog but I'm not sure if it's very soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm so happy this is getting attention. We made it in a short amount of time, but a LOT of effort went into making it! #animations #art #stories
