Movement Changes: - Bishops move up to four spaces diagonally instead of eight diagonally. - Rooks move up to four spaces horizontally and vertically instead of eight horizontally and vertically. - Queens move up to four spaces horizontally, vertically and diagonally instead of eight horizontally, vertically and diagonally. - Side Actions moves vary depending on your Special Piece you have. - Knight - One space diagonally forward - Bishop - Two spaces diagonally forward - Rook - Two spaces horizontally or vertically forward. - You are unable to use Side Actions to take pieces. Rules: - You can only use one of the three special pieces in a single round. - You can only Pawns promote to the special piece you chose at the beginning of the match. - Castling has been replaced with unnamed castling replacement. Turn Rules: - Turns are laid out as Main Action, Side Action, End Action. - Side Actions are optional actions that can be used by the piece you used your main action if the requirements are met. - Pawns and the King are the only two pieces to be able to use the Side Action. - Kings are unable to use their Side Action unless they are in check. Taking/Checking Rules: - If you put your opponent in a stalemate then it is counted as a checkmate. - Kings cannot move in to check using a main action if they are in check to get out of check using a side action. - En passant is allowed as is able to be used as a side action. - Turn Layout: - Turns are laid out to have Main Action, Side Action. - You may skip using a Main Action and immediately go to Side Action. - You have to use one of the two actions. - Main Actions can only be used before Side Actions not after.
