Description

aaartt duuumpp yey anyway i also have a wee surprise for ya. follow these instructions //very carefully//... firstly, -->don't press space yet!<-- i need to explain. (you can also ignore trila for now. but you can look at her if you want.) my sister had always been a role model when it came to art. her paintings are incredible. she mostly drew people back before she moved out, and i was awed by her talent. thus, i often tried to draw stuff myself. well, i tended to fail miserably, especially compared to her. there was a five year gap between us, granted, so she was much older and much more experienced, but that wasn't really apparent to me at the time. i thought i would never be as good as her, and maybe i never will, because she had that five year head start; but that's no matter. because even if i never get to my sister's level, i am improving, and that's what matters. okay. you can press space now. this is a terrible, horrible, very bad drawing from three years ago- and it's not even the worst of my drawings from back then! now press space again. this is a picture i drew a little while ago. it's waaay better than that terrible horrible very bad drawing from three years ago! there's still room for improvement, but i've come a long way. so what is the point of this? well, maybe you feel how i felt. maybe you see other's art and you feel like you'll never be able to draw like them. but maybe you don't have to. maybe you don't have to draw like them. maybe you can draw what you enjoy drawing, in a way that you enjoy- and that will be amazing. there will always be someone out there who is better at something than you. but as long as you keep improving, it doesn't matter. if you stayed in place because you felt you could never be as good as them and that there was no use trying, it'd be far worse than having lesser art that's steadily improving. so keep going. don't compare your art to others' and feel you are hopeless; instead, work at making your art better. //rant over.// you can look at the rest of the art now. note: this is all based off of books by km shea, except for the 2013 art. 1 trila the valkyrie from princess ahira 2 ugly 2013 art 3 gemma from rumplestiltskin 4-5 gemma's dress and some designs for embroidery on said dress (it's norwegian ^u^) 6 hvit from rumplestiltskin i also drew cagney from the little selkie but the scanner kept cutting her head off... additional quotes: "you're a star, no matter how dimly or brightly you shine, you're still there. you're a star. go ahead and shine." -@pirhana4
