Sitrep: Trooper Down 2's remake has been in development for almost four months now. Several hundred hours of my free time have been spent working on making it as perfect as possible. It's going well, despite myself maybe being a little too focused on perfection. However, It's overdue. Way overdue. due to this, the game will likely be finished in 2025 unfortunately. So that's why I need your guys's opinions. Current estimated progress: level 1 is about 50 - 70% done level 2 is about 70 - 80% done level 3 is about... 2 % done. Yeah, level 3 is somewhat of a roadblock for me. Due to the length of the first 2 levels combined, it's making it harder to focus on a proper ending to the game. This also means that level 3 is likely going to be a lot shorter. And I don't want it to be shorter since it's going to be the most exciting level of the entire game. What do you guys think we should do? Either give the game a few more months of work to get the entire game finished and released at the same time, and possibly making level 3 a lot less lengthy and exciting. Or should we set level 3 to the side, focus on level's 1 and 2 with all hands on deck, and finish all we've started a lot sooner, but release level 3 separately later? But this means level 3 would be possibly twice as long, and hopefully everything it should be. If option 2 is picked, due note that level 2 and level 3 are farther apart canonically, and also level 2 doesnt end on a cliffhanger (if anything level 3 ends on a larger cliff hanger) However, if this option just doesnt make as much sense, then we can just pick option 1. I've mostly been able to work on progress of the game so far, however october was a lot more busier then I expected, and to be honest I cant remember what happened all throughout November since it went by so fast. (Hope I didnt miss anything important) Kinda experienced burnout, but thats since I've been way too reliant on motivation as a way to get me to start working. Since time is running short, I'm trying to find the best ways to prioritize development without needing motivation to work on it. ADHD is the biggest tool for me, and at the same time its my biggest setback. We should be good though. Anyway discuss in comments what you think we should do.
