Amelia looked down and saw that she apparently had one shoe on. She looked up and saw Mason holding it, smiling playfully. "Ai dios mio!" said Amelia while chasing him for the shoe. Mason ran for the trees and Amelia followed. She finally caught up to him, but she slipped, both tumbling. Amelia opened her eyes to see Mason below her. She blushed so hard, you would've thought she was a tomato. She was very embarrassed. Mason was blushing as well and gave her the shoe. Amelia put it on but stopped. She thought of a memory of her hometown. Her friend Maria would do the same thing to her. Amelia laughed without thinking. Mason spoke, "What happened? What are you laughing at?" Amelia stopped after a while, "Oh. Just something I remembered from my home country. My friend used to do the same, and it was so hilarious." Amelia held out her hand to help Mason up. Mason took it hesitantly and lingered it for a while. A group of kids giggled beside them and Mason blushed. "What happened?" "Oh. That's the Aphrodite cabin. The goddess of love and stuff." "Oh.... OK! Well, let's get to lunch." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amelia and Mason both sat down. Apparently, the rest of the Hermes cabin saw the little play that happened, and they kept nudging Mason. Amelia tried not to think about it. She just kept eating her food, which melted in her mouth. She hadn't eaten anything like this for a full year. Amelia started firing questions at Mason, which might've stressed him out. "Okay! Last question.....who is Summer's godly parent?" "Summer? Oh, um...." Amelia looked at Mason thoughtfully. She always looked at the tiny details. She saw Mason was growing a sly smile and held her shoe tightly. "I don't remember! You can ask her though!" After an awkward silence, Mason spoke up, "So.... I don't have any activities today. Later...do you want to go....canoeing...um...go canoeing with me?" Amelia thought about this offer. "Sure! I've never been canoeing before!" " I can introduce you to some people like Penny." "Oh OK!" Amelia blushed. Ever since she had been living homeless in a car, she never thought someone would ask her to do something with her. Amelia and Mason continued to eat. Amelia never knew what prankster Penny could ever be.
