The TV crackled with freight. The room was cold, like a ghost was lingering. I tried to scream, but my shouts were muted by the thick piece of tape over my mouth. My hands and feet were roped together. The only sound was the sound was the sound of dripping water. I tried to move when a shadow creeped in the distance. I stayed silent, hoping it would not notice me. It spoke, “Hello Melody Sanchez. We have been waiting.” A hand reached toward my mouth and pulled the tape down. I took a breath, praying I could get home to my family. The shadowy figure moved to a couch, which I did not notice before, it turned on the light and I got a better look at it. He was a tall surly man with an evil grin on his face. He was wearing a dark blue suit with a black tie. He looked like he was serious which I knew he was. “I see that you have considered that you are chained to this very chair. Listen carefully, I will not repeat myself. I need a certain… task completed before I release you. Look closely at the television. You will need the following details.” The man grabbed the remote, pressed a few buttons, and the news appeared on the television. A reporter spoke in an urgent voice. She said, “Reports of a scandal has happened in Carson City, Nevada and we recommend that all residents stay inside. Meanwhile, in L. A. 5 singing superstars have risen to stardom in less than 2 hours. Their names, Halie Kalk, Sasha Westley, Jonah Fosley, Penelope Johnson, and Trenton Vile, have started to become more recognized by the hour as champions of musical arts. We all wish them luck in the- “The man turned the TV off and looked at me with a cold, blank stare and a grim smile. “Have you discovered the assignment? You get three days. I will allow assistance from one person you trust dearly for this task. Understand? I just need them gone.”
