Hi everyone, Rosie here! Welcome to this week’s project! ✨ As I said last time every other week would be a Christian based topic, so here we are with this week’s subject, I hope you enjoy! ✨ T.W.T: What is the difference between belief and faith? ✨ So my Bible study teachers brought up this subject a few weeks ago and this really stuck with me. ✨ So me and and six other girls around my age (13) have this Bible study with an older couple who were youth teachers at an old church and one of the girl’s mom asked if they would be willing to start a Bible study. They said yes and we have all become so close it’s like we’re family, but anyway, we had all just finished eating and headed to the living room for the lesson when Mr. Campbell said; “Girls, tell me, is there a difference between faith and belief?” We were all stumped, one of the girls, Chloe said; “ I thought not, but maybe there is?” I got to thinking about all that people has taught me about this stuff, and they had always used faith and belief in the same sentences as the same meaning. “Well Chloe,” Mr. Campbell began, “You are correct, there is a difference, yet most people don’t know this, let me explain,” We all took our usual spots and got ready for what I believe to the best lesson we’ve had~ ✨ “So here’s the thing, you can believe in something and not have faith in it,” We all looked confused. “I’ll give you an example,” He said, “We all believe in the Devil, but not like that, when I say ‘believe’ I mean we believe he is real. But we don’t put our faith in him,” It all started to make sense for us all. “Now a lot of people believe in God and that he gave his son Jesus Christ on the cross to save us from our sins, but what a lot of people struggle with is faith. Faith is blind trust, and being human, we like to be in control; We like to be the ones in charge, to call the shots and manipulate our fate, but truly having faith means letting go of your human urges and allowing God to lead your life as it should be.” ✨ He then went on to explain that having faith in God is like trusting a parent to catch you: We’ve all been through that time where we go stuck in a tree, or at the top of the jungle-gym, or were riding a bike without training wheels and we were scared, scared to fall, that our parent wouldn’t catch us and we’d fall. And there came that time of truth when you closed your eyes and jumped off the monkey bars into your mom’s arms, or climbed out of the tree into your dad’s embrace. That is what God wants from us, he wants us to trust him, to have faith in him, and to love him and all others un-conditionally. ✨ I hope this was helpful! ✨ See y’all next time, Rosie~
