I wish we had the 3DS era back. The 3DS was innovative, special, and massively popular back at release. Now it just seems like every new Xbox and PlayStation are the same thing. We don't have that whimsical feeling the 3DS or WiiU did (despite all the hate it got.) Even the switch is kinda boring. There's no home screen customization, no street pass, nothing unique about it other than "Wow it plays Nintendo games!" Consoles themselves should be fun instead of a gateway to whatever you want to play. For example, arcade cabinets with there art and usually social nature, the Playdate with its unique controls, special design, and special first boot screen, or the GameCube with its iconic boot sequence, unique menu, and wide selection of special games. It would be amazing for another console with the shape of a Gameboy Color that can do special things like Street pass or have a unique control scheme like the playdate.
