Autumn Page has tried to build a new invention for a while year. She tried her best to get the supplies and money to finally build it. On August 13, 2003, Autumn Page would try to succeed with her invention. That was the problem for that day was the day everything went wrong. Autumn grabbed a camera and started recording. “Ladies and Gentlemen, I have finally done it! I have finally built the new amazing: Steel Balloon! It has everything you named to protect yourself on your journey in the sky. It includes a steel frame for the balloon and a platform for a sturdy foundation. See, the reason I made this invention was because my father Micheal Page passed on after a balloon race accident. I have studied for a year to try to fix the problem and grieve for my father. Now, today is there dayI will help the world fly high in the sky!” Autumn Page grabbed the knob for the heat and turned it high. The heat started to grow hotter and hotter by the minute. Eventually after 10 full minutes, Autumn’s balloon grew to a higher altitude. The balloon moved forward while swaying back and forth. The balloon moved toward to a higher pace until it moved incredibly fast. The speed was exhilarating especially with the steel and firm foundation. Autumn felt like she just got gold in the Olympics. That is until it went downhill. A hydraulic pipe meaning to keep the platform level had burst. Autumn had no choice but to hold all the pipes together for it to work. It didn’t so she had to take a different route. She grabbed some of the stone pillars made for emergencies and placed it evenly on the platform. The steel frame started to rip away, piece by piece, panel by panel until the only thing left was the loose fabric of the balloon. Autumn was especially surprised by this for she thought her calculations were correct. The platform descended on tremendous speed and Autumn kept screaming, “Oh no! I thought I did it right?! What went wrong?” As the platform flew down, Autumn held on for dear life. The platform fell which caused a large impact on the sea below. Waves grew as tall as 49 feet tall swept through the empty sea. The only things left of the failed steel balloon was some debris and a necklace with a star. Nobody knows the sad fate of Autumn Page but news spread of the fallen child inventor lost at sea at 15 years old. She is now with her dad in the skies above. This was the tragedy of 2003.
