2/25/25 - This has only been out for a month and has already become one of my most popular projects! Thanks for all the support. [This is still in it's early states, so there's definitely bound to be glitches! I am aware of the Scratch Cat moving one and I will try and fix it. This game is constantly being updated!] {I suggest leaving any compliments and/or constructive criticisms in the comments. Any advertisements, spam, or rude criticism that isn't helpful will be deleted.} (The current world record is not held by me, it's held by @67Scratch! He was playing on my acc) Time to make: About a month and a half First project of 2025 babeh =========================== This is my 883th project! To play, basically use the arrow keys. Touch the purple 1 to- nah I'm kidding. Actual description time: Hi guys! Ok before we get in, you obviously need to know the context: As you can guess, this is a remake of my infamous first project, in which you can view at https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/277799470/ (though I highly don't suggest it if you want to preserve your sanity). I took the project's concept and remade it into a basic skill game. Like the original, there's a "collect this, avoid this" concept, except I think I executed it in a much more creative way. I obviously changed a lot of things to really show how far I've come in game development...I'm kidding I'm still garbage at it lmao But I definitely am better at it now. This game still has the same plot as the original- Scratch Cat has to grab green (previously purple) ones and avoid red ones. But now, it's actually playable! Instead of an atrocious moving system, there's smooth gliding, and the ones (now fish) move by the screen. There's also stuff to actually keep the player invested, with two game modes, power ups, health, time limits, and hazards in the violet sea! See how well you can help Scratch Cat on this journey through the sea! (P.S. you may also enjoy watching the intro so don't skip it) This game was also inspired by a few games I've been obsessed with lately by the same creator, MINDistortion. The first a game called "infect. evolve. repeat." In which you play as a virus who invades the bloodstream. The second is a game called "Bubbles", in which your ltierally a bubble...who has to grow to become a bigger bubble...without touching spikes. If you play them for yourselves, you can probably tell what was inspirational about them. (They also have sequels, so go check that out!) I've stayed on Scratch for over half a decade at this point, and it'll probably be another 4 or 5 years I decide to linger on this website before offically moving to websites like YouTube, GameJolt, and Newugrounds. Most of my friends won't even be active in 4 or 5 years. But as long as I'm making people happy and doing something with my life, I'm contempt with staying here for a while. (tbh I feel 8 year old me thought I'd quit by now lol) Fun facts: I chose the color violet as the main theme of this game because purple was the new "default" color on Scratch when 3.0 came out. It also works because purple replaced the color blue on the website's theme. This was originally going to be a story based level game with at least 15 levels, but I decided two simple modes were good enough. In fact I think if I went with the former idea, this would've gone the Scratch School route, if you know what I mean. Each level would've had a harder theme that would've been too ambitious and difficult to code as well. There also would've been an overarching plot with that guy you see in the beginning, but it was removed due to being kinda sappy and unnecessary. As Nicky Case best put it, not everything needs to my magnum opus. Speaking of which... Here are some sea things I scrapped during original production: 1. A shield that would've protected you from red for a brief period of time. Didn't add just 'cuz. 2. Fish that would've slowed you down or sped you up, called "Slowmo" and "Chaser". Discarded due to the fact it would've been too chaotic to code. 3. Some powerup that would've allowed for only red or green on screen. This was too hard to code, so I simply coded it like the hook and hookworm instead. This was originally planned to release during my four and five year anniversaries, but I was busy. Finally got unbusy, I guess. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy One To Go! - 97Scratch, 2025 Ha! I got you to come all the way down here! (This is something 8 year old me said in the original. I'm mainly disturbed by the fact it has perfect grammar.) #all #art #games #fun #scratch-cat #97Scratch #onetogo #one #to #go #scratch #cat #fish #remake #celebration #sea #skill #powerups #idkwhatelsetoputhere
