The game I created follows the story of a pioneer who made it to Oregon. While you have made it, you still need to find a place to live. This is a basic game about trying to set up a simple, yet vital part of your new life. In real life, many pioneers traveled the trail to find a home, including the mentioned Elijah White, a pioneer who led a one hundred wagon train 2,000 miles to Oregon. The version in this game is extremely simplified though. In real life, much of the good land would be taken, as others would have settled it, and depending on your job, the process would be more or less difficult. A farmer would have to set up his farm, and a blacksmith would need his anvil. One of the other issues is that to set up, you would need supplies, and many would under pack for their trip. If you did not have the correct supplies, setting up your shelter would be hard. This may have been lack of planning, or just a loss of supplies, but you may have needed to set up a tent like in the game, or stay in your wagon. The fact that you claimed the land and set up a shelter, did not make it safe. Animals could have homes there, or destroy your shelter. They could kill you, or you could freeze. Many dangers still would await you in Oregon, even if they aren’t the same ones you faced on the trail.
