I had just gotten used to sitting in the tree and was about to fall asleep when I heard a twig snap. I looked down from my branch, and saw… was that a skeleton? It had a bow and a few arrows attached to it’s back. Suddenly, it aimed his bow at, not me -- thankfully -- but at someone in the bushes. There was a gasp from whoever it was, and then they sprinted deeper into the forest. Without really thinking, I climbed down the tree and attacked the skeleton. It hit me with its arrows three times before I finally managed to k!ll it. Can you k!ll a skeleton? My thoughts were interrupted by the person who ran away. He had brown hair with a streak of green in it. “Thank you,” he said. “Sorry I didn’t help…” He looked kind of embarrassed. I shrugged. “Anyone would’ve done it. Hey, did you get the message about the three lives, too?” He showed me his wrist. “Yeah. Any idea about what it means?” I was about to say no, when the weird green creature appeared behind me. I drew my sword, positive that I could k!ll it like the skeleton, but the new guy tried to drag me up the tree. “What are you doing, man!? I can fight it!” I yelled, hitting his hand away from me. “You can’t fight it! It will explode and k!ll you instead!” That made me pause for a moment. “How do you know?” “Because one nearly k!lled me!” Wait. There were more than one? That probably means that there are other skeletons, too. That was not good. That was not good at all. I did what any sane person would do, and ran. I probably should have grabbed the other guy. For all I know, he could be dead by now. But that was his problem. If he can’t fight, what good would he be to me? I probably should have been looking at where I was going, because I ran into someone who was looking at the other side of the ravine that I didn’t see. This new guy had dark skin and a pale blue jacket. “Ack, sorry!” I stepped backwards, into the ravine. I seemed to fall in slow motion, but it was probably just a few seconds before I hit the ground. My vision went grey, as if the world had lost all its colour. “What the…” “Eat this!” Mr Blue Jacket threw an apple at me. I took a bite, and slowly, I started to feel better and my vision went back to normal. Mr Blue Jacket climbed down into the ravine. “Are you alright?” He asked me. “I think so… What just happened? Why did it go all… grey?” “That happens when you hurt yourself really bad,” What is wrong with this world?
