Sage got up quickly and she stared around in complete shock. I couldn’t blame her… did we really…. Travel through a portal..? But how…….? Was I asking too much questions? Umm.. probably. Suddenly, a strange presence made both of us uncomfortably weird. I slowly turned my head and immediately I screamed and grasped my best friend’s arm. A dark figure with a scythe who greatly resembled a grim reaper made the atmosphere of the graveyard we were in unsafe and controlling. This figure was wearing a hood pulled over his head so no one knew what he looked like and he was tall. Not any tall, REALLY tall- at least 6”4. The figure let out a low, raspy laugh that sent shivers down our spine. "Greetings....greetings!" the figure welcomed us all (in the kind of tone he didn't mean at all). "Call me the Game Master for now." the figure said. “WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO US-“ a familiar voice made me jump. Zane. As the stupid idiot he is, he attempted to strangle the “Game Master” who easily threw him onto the ground next to me and Sage. “As I was saying, welcome here. If you want to get out of this place to your normal, booooring life, you need to finish.. a little game.” Aw, man… I’ve seen enough horror movies and books to know about these ‘games’. I’m not stupid to purposely run into a tree while a serial killer chases me, “It’s hide and seek.” “We’re not in elementary school” someone said. I looked over to see who said it. It was Zane’s echo, Mason. Seriously, the guy was Zane’s living, human shadow. I’m honestly reaaally surprised that he finally didn’t repeat something Zane just said. Or… did he? “And?” The Game Master boredly asked. “Avoiding any interruptions. We will have several rounds. We are going to play hide and seek, but I will always be the seeker. If I find you, your head will be-“ he made a cutting motion with a gloved hand. “Each round lasts twenty minutes. Hide anywhere in this graveyard or the forest. I don’t want to see teamers or else.” He made the cutting motion again but more violently. “I’ll give you a minute to hide before I come seeking. “Without further ado, let the first round…begin.” The Game Master vanished into thin air. Everyone here stopped, but immediately got up and ran in every direction. Zane, however, was stuck on the floor like super glue. I kicked him softly. “IDIOT, GETUP ORELSEYOUWILLDIE” I angrily told him. He didn’t move. “YOU LITTLE” Zane got up. “DONT YOU DARE,” he tried to act scary. “Very funny, do you want to not save your life? IF YOU WANT TO, RUN.” I ran in the direction of the heart of the forest. All the forest was made of trees, trees and trees. No animals, strangely. Help, I'm probably gonna die..
