Gender: Female Age: ??? Species: cat/??? Habitat: Dark forests. She'll often hide in the tree tops her glowing eyes staring at anyone travelling by. However, thick fog seems to follow her whever she goes, only darkening the feeling of fear in people's hearts. Backstory: Though no one knows her real name, everyone knows this tragedy. A ghost story told to kittens everywhere to beware of the dangers lurking in the dark woods. Travelling alone, one fateful cat got stuck in the deep dark woods, fog surrounding her, deeming it impossible to return home. Marked as a traitor from her own family, she both haunted and hunted anyone brave enough to travel into the woods. However, the ghosts of the cats long since passed would soon get their revenge. Laying a trap for her, the cat got douced in Henouce, a liquid that can change a cat entirely. Her appearance changed, taking on the dark purple henounce on her head and neck. Her fur color changed from brown to blue. Finally, her mouth was sealed shut, inanbling her mute. Cursing her to forever stay in the woods, this cat stays in the dark forests, waiting for unsuspecting cats to wander in, since, those who enter, almost never return. Story: An excerpt from 'The Land of Curses', a book written on unique creatures found throughout Kalitan " I remember glancing up at the dark forest I was starting to enter into. I remember wondering what unique creatures I would run into. I never realized how much I would risk by entering into the forest. I never realized how close to de@th that it would bring me. I rested a hand on my sword strapped to my side, and the other clutching the strap to my bag. I entered the forest, unease starting to course throughout me. The fog that started to form seemed… unnatural. I had met many types of creatures that produced fog throughout my journeys, but this felt… different. More deadly in a sense. It was times like these where I wished my own companion Venus was here with me. Though she was a cat, she always calmed my nerves. As I continued further into the forest, I could feel eyes watching me, tracking my every move. I gripped my sword. Someone was here. I was certain. However, I couldn't place it. They were everywhere around me. I heard a rustle of bush behind me. Adrenaline kicked in, and I quickly pulled my sword out as I whirled around. Nothing was there. I glanced back and forth. Still… nothing. Slowly, I slid my sword back into its scabbard. “My own paranoia is starting to get the best of me.” I muttered. Turning back around, I was prepared to move forward when my eyes landed on a strange cat in front of me. Fog formed in the air around it, and black liquid dripped from its head. It's pure yellow eyes stared at me, reminding me of creatures that lurked in the darkness. I managed to stop my scream, taking a deep breath before inspecting the creature in front of me more. The cat had a blue and purple body, with its tail reminding me of a black skeletal vine. Attached to its ear was a red flower. I smiled. “Hello, little one.” I spoke in the shared tongue, a gift given to us by the gods. “Would you mind telling me your name?” There was no response from the void that covered the cat's face. In fact, all it did was take a step closer. Now, they were within touching reach. I crouched, seeing my pack off to the side. “You certainly are a unique creature.” The cat tilted its head. My hand instinctively reached out to pet it, when I paused, reminding myself about the dangers that could come with creatures as unique as them. The cat took another step towards me. They could now rest their head on my side. “What gender are you, little fella?” I asked, slowly picking up the cat. There was no fight as I looked at its stomach. “Ah. A girl. I can respect someone who can stand her ground.” ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ Continued in Notes and Credits

Description

Continuation from Instructions PLEASE DONT READ UNTIL YOU FINISH IT FIRST THERE ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ As I prepared to place her down, large tendrils of void shot out of her side, latching onto me. My hands pinned to my side as the cat landed gracefully on her paws. Twitching her head, the tendrils tightened. I could barely breathe. Her eyes glowed as she ran with more speed than I expected into the woods, dragging me along with her. As dirt and rocks scraped against me, I thought I was going to d!e. The fog continued to grow thicker, as if she was dressing me deeper into the heart of the forest. “Curse me and my softness.” I muttered in between me slamming into the floor, speaking in my natural tongue. “I can't even free myself like I would on a vine.” Suddenly getting an idea, my hand clasped around the hilt of my sword. I had no idea how it still clung into me, but it would be my one chance at escaping my own doom. Barely sliding it out, I slashed it against the tendrils encircling me. I heard a screech, like the trees were trying to yell in pain as the tendrils faded into the fog. Standing, I didn't waste any time inspecting my surroundings as I may have once done. I didn't stop until I somehow managed to reach my pack. Glancing back, I couldn't see the cat, but I wasn't going to risk it. I'd been in danger a few too many times to make the mistake of them being truly gone. I quickly exited the forest, not thinking twice about the other creatures that may be hiding in there. While I longed to see them, I certainly wasn't going to risk it. As I finally entered into clear fields, I took a deep breath. I evaded death once again. Hopefully I could have a while before it tried its hand again. However, that moment did develop one of my biggest fears.
