This might be a touchy topic but whatever. That’s what rants are for. Have you been mistook as a huge fan of something just cause you know the lore? I’m a little frustrated with how a majority of my friends get to go on and on about how they are obsessed with things like wings of fire, and then I bring up my core obsessions and they barely know about it. I wish I had someone I could geek out about httyd or all of the marvel movies with. One of my friends specifically constantly is telling everyone she meets to READ WINGS OF FIRE ITS THE BEST BOOK EVER! And she feels very strongly about the characters and ships, and I’m like, if she can tell everyone she meets to read that, why can’t I be like, YOU HAVE TO WATCH HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON! I LOVE IT SO MUCH ITS SO AMAZING! Many of them see it as something they watched when they were very little, so nobody thinks it’s cool. And yes, wings of fire isn’t terrible, but I’ve read so many other dragon books that I honestly like more. Like DRAGONS IN OUR MIDSTs. I know everybody on the internet and everyone at school is obsessed with wings of fire but I just wish they’d stop being so attached to it and check out all the other cool dragon books. One time my friend got mad at me for drawing a dragon with only two legs, even though that’s how hookfang and stormfly are. She also will connect any unique original creation I make with the specific tribes of wings of fire. And it makes it feel like my dragon ocs aren’t even original just cuz she can find a way to turn them into wings of fire trybrids. So yeah, that’s my rant about wings of fire. I know the lore of it, but it’s at the bottom of the list in my dragon book favorites. (If I offended any large opinionated wings of fire fans, just think inside your head, what your hidden obsession is, and replace what I said with that. You wouldn’t like it either. Would you?!) :(

The world building is really amazing in wof. But with the friends who are fine with people liking more than wof, I’m not really frustrated with them.
