I recently finished my third full playthrough of The Starlight Odyssey, and was inspired to create some fanart! The Starlight Odyssey really stands out from the other Warriors games I played when I was younger. It breaks away from the standard Warriors game formula of playing from a kit to becoming leader, it has engaging and original lore, and of course a complex battle system, rather than just spamming a space bar. But one of the things that stands out to me the most from this game is the depth of the characters. All of the characters in TSO seem to have so much depth behind them, from plot-relevant characters like Hollowsong to background characters like Softsnow. Each cat has their own personal values that are shaped by their personal experiences and influence the decisions they make. Even if they're not the main focus of the story, they all seem to have their own life story that doesn't revolve around the main character. The main purpose of your allies in the game is just to give you a variety of skills to use in battle, but outside of that, each character has their own distinct personality. What I found the coolest about the player's relationship with the ally characters after playing multiple times is that there's a lot about each character that you don't get to learn unless you take the time to get to know them. For example, in my first game, I played as an assassin and completely ignored Windripple, and as a result, I had no idea about her secret wish to find her father. By spending time with Roseblight, you learn about how her family dynamics impact her, especially when she was younger. This just shows how the characters all have their own story that's separate from the player's experiences and the main narrative, which I think really makes this game unique. So, because this game is fun and I love the characters, I decided to draw some art of your allies! The textures in this game's artstyle are so satisfying, and it was fun to draw each cat's unique stripes and patterns. A little sentimental note about Wildflight's games: When I first joined Scratch, one of the main things I did was play all the most popular Warriors games, including Adventures in BayClan. I played all three games multiple times, and thought they were the best Warriors games ever. In fact, I became inspired to create my own Warriors game (which was not that good) and later, my own Wings of Fire game (which is significantly better. Check it out on my profile if you want- it's called Secrets of Sky). When I worked on Secrets of Sky, my goal was for it to become the Wings of Fire equivalent of Adventures in BayClan, in the sense that it would be a good, engaging game and (hopefully) become popular. I thought of AiB as the top Warriors game on Scratch, and had dreamed of making something that could fill that role for Wings of Fire. I don't think it's quite reached that level, but AiB definitely gave me something to aspire to. Wildflight, I know you've said that you're not an artist, or a coder, but your games help inspire other people who might not be experts in those things to try and make stuff anyway!
