Shadow ran through the forest, as a cool breeze brushed his face. Rouge and Omega followed close behind, ready for the attack on Eggman's base. "Does everyone remember the plan?" Shadow asked the group. "Affirmative." Omega replied, follow by Rouge's, "Of course, Handsome." "Good." Shadow branched off from the others and turned to the left side of the base. Still running, he scaled the side of the base, standing on the top of the concrete wall. He looked around. Robots roamed the area, keeping track of the things they needed to do. Just then, missiles shot at the right side of the base. All the robots turned, just as Omega burst through. "Take that, inferiors!" Omega instantly took out six robots at once and took charge toward the rest. Shadow stayed low and headed toward the back of the base, where there was a big warehouse. He jumped down from the wall and quickly entered the main building. He heard Rouge come in behind him, knocking out the robots guarding the entrance. She waltzed in, flicking a loose screw off her shoulder. "Need to hack the system?" She nodded at the computer at the back of the room. Shadow nodded, and they both walked over to it. Rouge quickly hacked the devise and scanned the screen. "What have you been up to, Eggman...?" Suddenly, a big robot came up from the ground beneath them, splitting them up. "Shadow!" Rouge exclaimed, as she got pinned by the robot. "You need to see what's on that computer!" She kicked the robot. "Hey! Over here!" The robot turned to her and started fighting her. The sky outside began to get dark as Shadow quickly checked the computer. Clearly, this base was important and hiding something. He took a sharp breath in as he saw plans for a time machine and air battle ships, controlled by chaos energy. But just as he was about to look some more, the robot behind him shot at the computer, destroying it. Luckly, Rouge kicked it again, and the robot turned to her. "Rouge!" Shadow yelled over. "We got what we need. Let's go!" He used chaos control and warped her out of the main building. The robot, now confused, started wrecking the building it was in. "Omega, this way!" Rouge motioned Omega over, and the three of them left the base, as one of Rouge's bombs went off in the warehouse. "You couldn't resist." Shadow said, amused. "Of course! A lady needs some fun once in a while." She smirked at him, and they continued through the forest as it got darker. In a clearing, Team Dark stopped. "Rouge? I thought it was twelve o' clock." "It is. There was an eclipse today." She paused. "Well? What did you see on the computer?" "I-- AH!" Shadow touched his chest fur where his scar was. It hurt badly. Why now? "Shadow? Is everything ok?" Rouge looked at him, nervous. All he could do was breath as the total eclipse hit the top of the sky, and he passed out.
