Instructions

Welcome to Story Maker! :) ===================================== In this project, you can create your very own stories with two characters that talk to each other or tell a story! About: In this project, your stories can include the following: - 2 characters that interact with each other - Scenes that can change - Characters that say or think things - Characters that can hide or show ===================================== Here's how to get started. How to Begin: 1. Select a scene to begin with. This will be the scene where your characters will start. 2. Select the first character. This is your starting character on the bottom LEFT side of the screen. 3. Select the second character. This is your starting character on the bottom RIGHT side of the screen. Now it's time to build your story! ===================================== Once you chose your starting scene and characters, you will see your scene and your two characters on the screen with a variety of buttons. Here is what each button does. Play/Stop Button: This button is at the top right of your screen. Press this to play/stop your story. It will run through the commands (storyboard) in the center. Clock Button: This is toward the top right of your screen. Click on this, and it'll ask you for a duration. This will make a pause in the story. Backdrop Button: This is also toward the top right of your screen, and it looks like two hills. Click this to get a large grid of different scenes you can choose from. Select a scene, and it will change to that scene when you play the animation! Undo Button: This is at the very top right of the screen. This will undo your last action. The following buttons will appear on both sides of the screen. This is because they apply to a specific character. The buttons on the left apply to the first character, and the buttons on the right apply to the second character. Cat Button: This will open up a grid of different characters you can choose from. Select a character, and the character will change to that character when you play the animation. Speech Button: This looks like a speech bubble with three dots. It will ask you to type in what you want the character to say. Thought Button: This looks like a thought bubble with three dots. It will ask you to type in what you want the character to think. Show Button: This makes the character appear in the story. Hide Button: This makes the character disappear in the story. ===================================== The Finish Button is for when you are ALL DONE with the story. Type "yes" if you are finished. Type "no" or something other than "yes" to continue working on it. 1. When you are done, a green screen will show up. Click the Green Flag to see your story! 2. Remix the project. 3. Change the name of the project to something related to your story (the title of it). I don't want to see a story named "Story Maker remix." 4. Delete the instructions. 5. You may delete the sprites named "SceneSelection," "CharacterSelection," and "Buttons" to make your story load faster. 6. Share your project! 7. Put your story in this studio: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/35897348/
