- THE CREATION MYTH - Long before anything stood in its place, there was an orb. This orb was made from obsidian, the black rock. After some time in complete solitude, two entities were willed into being by the orb - Aeos and Azoth. The two saw the orb of obsidian, and being who they were, had formed different ideas over how they would use the orb. Aeos wanted to create a race of Angels and Humans who ruled the orb with Order. Azoth wanted to create a race of Demons and Shadows that claimed the orb for themselves, and ruled in the name of Anarchy. Seeing how the two were vastly different in their goals, they decided the only way to know who would get their opportunity to extend their influence over the orb was to battle for supremacy. And battle they did. The fight lasted for millions of years, with no clear victor. Eventually, however, Aeos was able to claim victory, and had nearly killed Azoth's physical body, when Azoth had his last laugh - he plunged his sword into the orb of obsidian, corrupting it forever and creating Tartarus. Aeos had no choice but to build a shell around the corrupted orb, a façade that hid its true nature from the world above. And as such, Gaia was born. Today, Gaia is inhabited by humans and ruled by Angels, and Tartarus is inhabited by Demons and infested with creatures of shadow and malice.
