Background Information: This roleplay will start of at around the year 1000, so keep in mind the technological restrictions of the age, but with sufficient roleplay on developing new technologies, you can develop weapons and other technology decades before it was actually discovered. Note, you will discover more continents and landmasses as you spread out from the main continent. Biome information: Light green: Extremely arable land, ideal location for crops to grow. Green: Plains, mostly large, flat spaces of land with small hills, quite arable, easy to grow crops. Dark green: Forests, a massive abundance of resources like wood, timber, and there may be ore bodies beneath the forests, and a variety of flora and fauna. Grey: Stone hills, essentially small mountains, but they can still be traversed quite easily, large abundance of resources such as stone, surface ore and some caves. Dark Grey: Mountains. These are incredibly hard to traverse, but hold massive amounts of resources, including surface ores and low earth ores, as well as large amounts of caves leading deep into the earth. Weather here may also be deadly. I don’t think there is enough space here for full descriptions, so if you want to know more about other biomes, ask me directly. Rules: 1. No deciding outcomes of any sort. If you try, you will get a strike. Do not make assumptions that have not been confirmed either, or act on assumptions. 2. You can argue with other players on their activities if they are unreasonable, or if they do actions without knowing you already set up defences confirmed by the host, but I will decide the outcome of whatever arguments occur. Using rude language will award you a strike. 3. I think that is the gist of it, I’ll add new rules as I come across unacceptable behaviours or roleplaying.
Capital Name: Otokoyama (Literally means man mountain, where the majority of the people reside..mainly miners who specialize in extraction and refining ores and whatnot, does feature some form of commercial area, with a few stalls selling gems and ores.) Government Style: Heavily influenced by Clan matters, Clans rule individual sectors of the nation, some being monopoly like and owning large swaths of land and resources, these clans are not meant to control power but some end up anyway, all people of Mount Oashisu are of a clan heritage, nobody is clanless, unless they are a foreigner...which is likely impossible due to the lengths it would take to simply reach them, the clans are all unique from one another, some carry better equipment, some have large amounts of people and some have higher intelligence, it is a variable. [ The four major clans are! ] [ Sara Clan, specialists in preaching religions, fanatics regarding religion (National religion is Mountania, worship of the mountain which provides riches and food for the people.) they are seen as crazy by the other clans due to their intolerance of other religions. Live in a rather large building of worship. ] [ Tangoku Clan, warrior clan, known predominantly for their amazing use of weapons, very small though consisting of only 500 or so people. They are not interested in religion nor politics, mainly on the side that will give them the time to fight..they reside in one large dojo complex. ] [ Kakinomoto Clan, the largest clan..made of physically strong people built to endure harsh weather and mine ores, they usually have large brawny builds perfect for hard labour, they aren't as educated as the other clans but they make up for it in their usefulness regarding hauling objects. ] [ Takamura Clan, very intelligent, regarded as the wisest and smartest in the Shogunate, they are usually political advisors for the Shogun, they have stunning white hair that sets them apart from the other clans, they are treated with highest respect and are given lots of gifts, some Takamura clan members end up being Shogun themselves. ] Political Inheritance; Different than the Shogunate of Japan, females are permitted to be Shogun and are not banned, but over the 500 or so years since foundation, there have only been 3 Female Shoguns, males are more favored as it has been the norm. [ Daimyo of Mount Oashisu: Nakata Ryu. ] [ Oashisu Shogun: Takamura Neji-n ] [ Seats of Government: 12 seats, all equal from all clans. ] [ Economic outlook: stagnating, rather still due to lack of trading, but makes up for it with strong intercommerce. ] [ Agriculture, low..few people, farm and mainly on terrace like structures, growing mushroom and leafy greens, they do grow high altitude herbs, such as horseradish and Wasabi. ] [ Hunting, they do hunt but never overhunt. to prevent massive overhunting, sanctuaries are set up across the mountain these sanctuaries are protected by forestal rangers which use man-catchers and non-lethal tactics to take down intruders. Punishment for over catching food, especially wild birds such as falcons, eagles and owls, as a 3,000 Shisu (Around 300 USD, so the conversion rate is 10 USD = 100 Shisu ) [ Transportation; Usually via foot, but some use Billhorn (Name given to Yaks that live in the mountains, domesticated and used for their wool and milk, it is illegal to harm Yaks, so no whipping for work or transportation, Yak meat is only given to the Shogun and the Cabinet.) carriages to transport heavier equipment and whatnot across the rocky roads. ] ( Side note, the people are familiar with the terrain and thus can easily outmaneuver enemy forces that dare invade the land.) [ Architecture...started in the very base of the mountain...runs into the mountain itself, the cities and villages are inside the hollow-caves, with lamps formed of oil and some few glowing gems light up the interior, creating a beautiful veil of colors, it is one of the many sights to see in Mount Oashisu. Houses are built into crevices and aren't that spacious, featuring three rooms, one living room for eating, a bathroom and bedrooms, cooking is done outside the house or inside when nobody is around..houses are to always have a proof of ownership to prevent misunderstandings, all residents must register with the patrol police or they will be classified as suspicious. ]
