i love your design for Soren, man, and I think this piece was more than I expected, something I wanted to REALLY encapture the vibe I got from Soren. We have some lovely Aurora music to go along with this piece, which is somewhat of a sad song to pair with Soren, and I did see that you did not want me to associate sadness with Soren, but the feel I was more going for was a solemn nostalgia, from the colors to surrealistic take i took to the compositioning. I FEEL LIKE I also made Soren a bit too mature-looking for a 9-13 year old boy, in which I hope you don't mind how I drew him..! Besides that, I did a few adjustments to his character design that I THINK i have some stuff to say about. 1. This was the first thing I wanted to add, being a pink tie around his neck, which I mostly added for composition reasons as it looked good, but pink also is a color that represents naivety, youth, happiness, and stupidity, which is quite fitting. 2. I gave him lace around the ends of his coat as I feel like it gave his character design some more interest. Lace in general is also a thing seen in older clothing, which I often relate to royalty, richness, or refinement. I feel like since your characters were inspired by the sky, I wanted to integrate the lace, IN WHICH I BELIEVE MY RANT ABOUT LACE is a bit over the top HAHA but I enjoy rambling, it's interesting I think. (i hope) 3. I didn't include his wings.... i believe the plants in the back suffice as a more "metaphorical" representation of his wings. Maybe you as a viewer can interpret plants replacing his wings as something.
