Composition -- HOME Menu - Nintendo-styled console ambience One of the things that fascinates me about older Nintendo consoles is the music that plays on the Home Menu. As the first thing you hear every time you turn on the console, this music has an outstanding impact on the community familiar with said consoles. I have had a Wii and 3DS XL since their time, and the impression left on me through their menu music alone is noteworthy. The atmosphere was so beautiful that I wanted to create my own concept of an ambient console track, and this was the result. The 3DS menu theme was a significant inspiration for this, and you'll hear traces of it throughout! Making console ambience is much more difficult than I thought it would be. If I ever meet the composers of the Wii and 3DS home menu themes, I have to ask them how they made it work so well. It's more complex than placing a bunch of random notes. Those little jingles must be within the key and have some "melody" that makes sense and is easy to hear. Finding that middle ground between overcrowding it and leaving it too empty was quite a challenge! As I work on uploading an Aero theme to Revo Launcher's Content Hub, enjoy this short composition!
