Go away before I hurt you more!” The she-cats were quiet for a bit. “…we could run away! T-then we could be together always!” The silver tabby spoke once more. “I can’t. I can’t leave my Clan,” she said quietly. “My family, my friends… my sister needs me.” “But I need you too…!” “…I can’t abandon my life,” Willowstream gasped. “Willowstream…” the other she-cat mumbled. “Please don’t leave me!” “I’m sorry, Calicopetal.” Willowstream took off, leaving Calicopetal to her grief. Across the meadow, around the holly thicket, she knew this path by heart. ‘It’s brought me to my love so many times…’ Willowstream thought. ‘And now I’ve left her forever.”
